Shoal Creek Counselors

Meet Michele Cronin

This is Mrs.Cronin's second year at Shoal Creek. She has been in the Liberty School District as a substitute teacher, counselor and parent for many years. Mrs. Cronin is married with three great kids and loves to travel, spend time with her family and read. Mrs. Cronin is also trained as a Play Therapist.

Mrs. Cronin will work primarily with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students this year.

Meet Shannon Fletcher

Mrs. Fletcher has been at Shoal Creek for six years. She is a great asset to the students and teachers of Shoal Creek and even received the Teacher of the Year award for the 2015-16 school year. Mrs. Fletcher is married with two awesome boys. She enjoys spending time with her family and watching her boys play sports.

Mrs. Fletcher will work primarily with Kindergarten, 1st and 5th grade students this year.

Our Mission

Mrs. Fletcher and Mrs. Cronin both use play therapy interventions. Research shows that play allows children a way to help them reconcile their thoughts, process their problems, and manage stress. While playing is a fun activity for children, it also can be a way to help them express their thoughts and feelings and develop coping skills.

Our mission of the counseling program at Shoal Creek Elementary School is to create a positive environment where students can identify their own unique leadership talents and make a positive difference in our school, our community and the world. We are committed to providing a comprehensive school counseling program where students can learn and grow socially, personally and academically.
